The Trio Angus journey started in 2003 when Sam & Meg Piper purchased a selection of stud cows. Their aim was to further grow the interest their three children had in cattle - hence the name ‘Trio Angus’ was established.

The original foundation females were purchased from various studs across NSW. The main focus at the time was to secure females that would work under commercial management but had the genetic potential to be the building blocks of the stud in the future. Over the next few years the stud continued to grow with leading genetics introduced through AI & ET.

In the years that followed, Trio Angus expanded rapidly & started to out-grow its home on the Liverpool Plains. In 2010 the decision was made to relocate the operation to ‘Ingleburn’ Cassilis & Matt & Shell took over the business.

Since 2003 the breeding program & aspirations for the stud have evolved. We now calve 300 females a year & sell 100+ bulls to breeders in the local area & further afield.

The final and proper purpose of all beef cattle breeding is to produce good beef; its highest purpose is the production of the most beef of the best quality in the least time, with a given amount of feed and care.
